Waldoboro, July 29. - A prayer service for Pvt. Elmer Achorn, 20, whose body will arrive here Friday morning, will be held Sunday at 1:15 p. m., at the Waltz funeral home, with a millitary committal service in the Shuman cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the hour of the funeral. Private Achorn, son of Amos and Myrtle Achorn, was killed at Anzio beachhead March 4, 1944. He was graduated from Waldoboro High School in 1942, and entered teh service Feb. 10, 1943, going overseas in July, 1943. He was a member of Company A. 7th Infantry. He was affiliated with Meenagha Grange. Besides his parents, he leaves a brother, Austin, of this town, and a sister, Mrs. Roland Jones of Jefferson.
