NORTH SMITHFIELD - 90 years, Ruth Gabrielle (Devere) v Bonte, resident of St. An- toine's Residence, North Jmithfield, died peaceful­ly on May 25, 2015. A homemaker and Navy Veteran, she was the wife of the late Andre R. Bonte, a well known Woonsocket textile man­ufacturer and executive.

Born in North Smithfield to Gabrielle (Sutton) Devere and Earl R. Devere M.D., she lived in North Smithfield for thirty- four years. She moved to Cum berland, living at Ma-plewood Farms for thirty-two years be­fore retiring to St. Antoine's for her last remaining years.

Graduating from Woonsocket High School with honors, she was a member of the Rhode Island Honor Society and at­tended the former Hill College. She served in the WAVES, the Women's Auxiliary Volun­tary Emergency Service during World War n. Mrs. Bonte was assigned to the Office of the As­sistant Secretary of the Navy, Material Division, Production Branch in the Navy Department in Washington D.C. Mrs. Bonte was also a member of the Trini­ty Club and the American Con­tract Bridge League.

A loving mother and grand­mother, she was dedicated to her family and led her life with a special devotion to her church and faith. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Earl De­vere, Sr. She leaves three daugh­ters; Eugenie R. Bonte of St. Louis, MO, Andrea Bonte Ar- curi and her husband William of Jupiter, FL, and Jane Bonte Dwyer and her husband Jack of Lincoln, RI; five sons, Eugene A. Bonte and his wife Irena Bronstein of Boston, MA, An­dre R. Bonte, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Manchester, NH, Richard E. Bonte of Woonsock­et, RI, Robert P. Bonte and his wife Lavon of Laguna Niguel, CA and Anthony K. Bonte and his wife Abigail of San Jose, CA twelve grandchildren and one great grandson, ten nieces and four nephews.

Her funeral will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St, Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Rd., Cumberland, RI 02864. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland. Calling hours will be held Thurs­day from 4-6 PM. Donations may be made to St. Joan of Arc Church, or The Rhode Island Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Ave., Providence, RI 02907 or St. Antoine Resi­dence, 10 Rhodes Ave., North Smithfield, RI 02896.
