Mrs. Renner had been a victim of heart trouble for many years and in the latter stage, other complications set up which brought about her death. While her death had been expected for some time, yet the end came very suddenly. While sitting in a chair, she fell asleep in the arms of Jesus.
Mrs. Elizabeth Renner was the daughter of the late Ezra Sanders and was born April 23, 1851. She was married to Harrison Renner September 26, 1868. To this union seven children were born. Two of them preceded the mother in death.
The children living are Calvin and Elijah Renner and Mrs. Burks Edwards, all of Russ; Walter Renner of Lebanon, and Albert Renner of Springfield. There are also sixteen grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. She also leaves the aged husband and one brother, Albert Sanders, of Russ, and one sister, Mrs. S. H. Jones of Tekamah, Nebraska.
The children were all present for the funeral; also a large number of friends and other relatives.
Mrs. Renner was converted at an early age and united with the Christian church, in which faith she died.
She was a very unassuming lady and a lover of home and was very rarely ever known to be away from home. She was a good neighbor and a kind, loving mother.
The funeral services were held Saturday at 2 o'clock at the White Oak Pond church, conducted by Rev. R. O. McCray, of Lebanon. The choir, led by R. C. Haggard, sang "Abide With Me," "No Night There," and "When Shall We Understand?"
