Ethel was born June 30, 1932 in Alliance, Nebraska the daughter of Alva and Mildred (Phillips) Muzzey. She grew up and attended school in Alliance. She married Calvin Long in 1951 and they lived in various places across the country. They lived in the western Nebraska/eastern Wyoming area since 1955 off and on. They moved to Yoder, Wyoming in 1996. Calvin died in 2000.
Ethel enjoyed sewing and reading.
Ethel is survived by three sons William "Bill" Long and his wife Kim of Yoder, Wyoming, Robert Long and his wife Jeannie of Norco, California, and Wilbur Long and his wife Christine of Elizabeth, Colorado; a sister Nellie Athey of Alliance, Nebraska; three brothers Alva Muzzey of Lexington, Nebraska, Leroy Muzzey and his wife Jeri of Lexington, and Jessie Athey of Sheridan, Wyoming; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter Phyllis, four sisters, and two brothers.
