William J. Bonenberger, Locust Valley, died this morning at York Terrace after a lengthy illness. Born in Suffolk, he was a son of the late Joseph and Laura (Davidson) Bonenberger. An army veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 74, Lakeside Grange 1418, and was self-employed.
He was a member of St. Fidelis Church, Mahanoy City, where he once served as sexton, and belonged to the parish Holy Name.
Surviving are sisters, Mary, at home; Mrs. Jeanette Watson, Mahanoy City; Mrs. Charles (Laura) Blackwell, Locust Valley; a brother, Joseph, Allentown; nieces and nephews.
Funeral is Saturday, 10 a.m. from Charles Post Funeral Home, Mahanoy City, with Mass at 10:30 in St. Fidelis Church and burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation Friday, 4-9 p.m.
