Randy Ray Masters was born in Murphysboro, Illinois on April 18, 1959 to Frances "Red" and Rosemary (Cripps) Masters. His siblings include Marion Masters of St. Johns, Michigan, James Masters of Grand Tower; Terrie Hellman and Susan Ragland, both of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Loyce Poole of Anna; Debra Winters of Poway, California; and Lisa Masters Potter of Jonesboro.

His stepsiblings include Robert Musgraves of Grand Tower; Cyrus Musgraves of Grand Chain; Creston Musgraves Jr. of Paducah, Kentucky; Marie McBride of Simpson; Karen Sickling of Radcliff, Kentucky; Sandra and Jewel Musgraves, both of Grand Tower; and Christina Mehrle of Jackson, Missouri.

He married Sandra Curry on December 1, 1986 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She survives as do four sons -- Timothy Jon and Ryan Francies Masters, both of Dubois and Andrew Louis and Randy Linn Masters, both of DuQuoin.

Randy was a member of the Liberty Church in DuQuoin. He died at the age of 32 at Marshall Browning Hospital, DuQuoin.
