Clara was born in Rostov, Russia.
When Clara first came to the Pellston area in 1903, she spoke no English. At age 16 she was put into a kindergarten class.
Her request was to be cremated and have her ashes flown back to her birthplace of Russia.
Clara and Benjamin were married in Cleveland, Ohio on 13 May 1907.
Benjamin "Ben" and Clara raised their 11 children at their farm along Pleasantview Road, S.E. of Lark's Lake.
