Funeral Mrs. Roberts
The remains of Mrs. H.E. Roberts arrived at 7:15 o'clock accompanied by Dr. Roberts. A large number of friends were present to lend their sympathy and assistance. The remains were taken to the Roberts home at 604 East Maple where the funeral will take place at two o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E.A. Bess. Mrs. Luella Johnson Roberts was born at Liberty Center, Ind., Dec. 22, thirty-four years ago. She attended Franklin College at Franklin, Ind., and taught school at Fowler,Ind. She was married to Dr. H.E. Roberts at Fowler six years ago on New Years eve, the anniversary of her marriage being the day of her funeral. Mrs. Roberts came to Independence about four years ago with her husband where she has ever since resided. She died at St. Joseph's hospital in Kansas City of heart failure brought on by long suffering from rheumatism. She has two sisters and two brothers living in Indiana who are expected for the funeral. Mrs. Roberts was an active worker in the Presbyterian church, being a teacher in the primary grade of the Sunday school at the time of her death. She was a woman who had the highest esteem of all who knew her and her husband has the deepest sympathy of a host of friends.
