Child ruled victim of asphyxiation.
An 8 month old Rigrish Addition child was found dead in his bed at noon Friday, apparently a victim of asphyxiation. The child, Shanning Ray Allen, a son of Elmer and Joyce Duzan Allen, was moved to Mercy Hospital in a Gill ambulance, but was dead on arrival.
Dr. James F. Scott, Scioto County coroner said his investigation indicated the baby had scooted backward through rails of a home auto type bed and become caught.
Surviving in addition to the parents, are a sister, Christina Ann; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Allen of Minford, Rt. 1; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Duzan of Vanceburg, Ky. Funeral services are to be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Erwin Dodson Funeral Home at Minford, with Rev. Homer Harris officiating. Burial is to be in Scioto Burial Park.
