Mrs. Frances Ann Abbott, age 82 of Fayette, died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Fayette Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel with Rev. Brad Doss and Rev. James Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church cemetery. The visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel.

Mrs. Abbott was born November 7, 1931 in Pickens County, AL, the daughter of the late Thomas Homer Lowe and Mary Frances Allen Lowe. She formerly worked for the Fayette County Health Dept. for 21 years and the Alabama Soil and Conservation Service for 21 years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Abbott was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Jack "Jackie" Abbott.

Survivors include her daughter, Jo Frances (Daniel) White of Fayette; her son, Jack (Vickie) Abbott of Savannah, GA; one granddaughter, Amanda Kizzire; 3 step-granddaughters, Sarah McSpadden, Wendy McKinney and Jordan White; two step-grandsons, Daniel White and Joshua White; three step-great grandchildren, Michael McKinney, Chole McKinney and Gianna Rachel Danieli.
