Robert ALLEN
ALLEN, Robert entered into eternal rest July 12, 2014 in Carmichael at the age of 89.
Beloved husband of 68 years to Marian Allen. Loving father of Terry Allen (Bonnie), Thomas Allen (Jill) and Susan Allen. Loving brother of Glenn Allen, Jr. and Theodore Allen (Gloria). Devoted grandfather of Robert Sean, Shelly, Peter, Katie and Summer. Preceded in death by his sister, LaVonne.
Bob served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received two Purple Hearts while in combat in the South Pacific Islands. He was very active in the Shiloh Church in Oakland, Calif. where he held administrative leadership positions including the running of the church's Food Ministry program, a long running and successful community service. Bob enjoyed reading and was particularly interested in the American Revolution, it's founders and the U.S. constitution. Until just the last couple of years Bob found relaxation at the family cabin he built in the Lake Tahoe area.
Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Miracle Christian Worship Center, 470 E H Street, Dixon, CA 95620. Private interment, Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA. Flowers may be sent to River Cities Funeral Chapel, 910 Soule Street, West Sacramento, CA 95691 for delivery to church.
