Harry grew up in Jonesport and Bass Harbor. He graduated from Pemetic High School and joined the U.S. Army. After his military service Harry worked as a mechanic and owned and operated his own garage. He also worked as a lobsterman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and watching the Red Sox and Patriots. He loved to garden and spend time with his dogs. Harry enjoyed taking his grandchildren for ice cream and had fostered many children. He was a collector of unusual objects. Harry was a founding member of the American Legion Post #207 Trenton, ME.
Harry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Terri, and daughter Kayline Russell and husband John of Bucksport; Harry's children, Mary Louise Belanger of Bass Harbor and Cheryl Tracey of Florida; many grand and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a loving dog, Chase. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Terrance Alfred Tracey; sisters, Betty and Kathleen; brothers Kenneth and Elmer.
Visitation will be 5:30-7:30, Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Southwest Harbor Congregational Church, 33 High Road, Southwest Harbor where a memorial service will be held at 11:00, Saturday, July 19th. Interment will be at Mt. Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor and a gathering of family and friends at the Southwest Harbor American Legion Hall will follow.
