He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Luce of Hays, Kansas. He and Louise were married on March 8, 1944, and are survived by two daughters: Carol Ann Lang of Bethany, Oklahoma, and Barbara Painter of Tulsa, a son-in-law Randy G. Painter, two grandsons, Christopher Lang (Tiffany) and Patrick Painter (Jennifer), one granddaughter Jennifer Honn (Jesse), 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 brother, Raymond Holl of Beloit, Kansas.
He was an active member of the American, Oklahoma, and Kansas Bar Associations. He was active in community affairs while living in Bartlesville, serving as the Commander of the Legion Post, a founder, director and president of the Boy's Club, the County Civil Defense Director, and member of the Jane Phillips Hospital Board. In lieu of flowers, it was his wish that donations be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church of Oklahoma City, of which he was a member.
A graveside service will be held on July 23 at Rose Hill Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at Covenant Presbyterian Church the same day. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was respected and loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
