His mother was residing in North Carolina at the time of his enlistment.

Cpl Galloway's Funeral Tuesday
Military funeral services for Cpl David Lewis Galloway, 16 year old Florence and Manning soldier who was killed in action in Korea in 1950, will be conducted at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the graveside in Elmwood Cemetery.
The young soldier, the son of Mrs Mary J Driver of Columbia, was temporarily interred in the United Nations Military Cemetery near Pyongyang, North Korea, but was returned to the United States government by the Communists during a mutual exchange.
Services Tuesday will be conducted by a chaplain from Fort Jackson and the Rev V M Forrester, pastor of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Appropriate military honors are scheduled.
Young Galloway was born in Florence, but was a member of the First Baptist Church at Manning.
Survivors include his mother; two sisters, Miss Mildred Virginia Galloway of Columbia and Mrs Mary Ruth Leafendol of Orangeburg; two brothers, James Edward Galloway of Florence and Charles Galloway of Florida; and his maternal grandfather, Lonnie L Jones of Johnsonville.
The body is scheduled to arrive in Columbia at 6:40 Tuesday morning.
