Funeral service for Mr. H. C. "Jack" Cooper will be 11 am Monday, July 21, 2014 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Dick Enterkin and Bro. Tom Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Joyce, LA. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 8 pm on Sunday July 20th at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home.

Mr. Cooper, age 94 and a resident of Natchitoches passed away Thursday, July 17th in Natchitoches, LA. He was born May 23, 1920 in Mississippi to the late Mabel and Chester Cooper. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. During his military career, he learned the air and refrigeration trade. Upon completion of his military duty, he worked in the A.C. and refrigeration appliance field, but ultimately he used his skills to teach at Northwest Louisiana Technical College for many years. He was very proud of the fact that he was able to teach a trade to so many students and affect their lives in a positive way, by giving them a life-long profession. He was a member of the Masonic Order and was also a Shriner. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Minnie Gilcrease Cooper; grandchildren, Angela Cooper and Shantell Cooper; great grandchildren, Haylie Beth Humphries, William Chance Humphries and Hannah Rae Coleman; as well as a great grandchild, Karter Dade Lang.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Christine Eileen Cooper; and his son, Ronald Chester Cooper.
