Mrs. Oliver (Martha) Taylor, 86, died in a Bluefield Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Montcalm to the late Phillip Scott and Lucretia Hubbard, and had been a resident of Bluewell for fifteen years. Martha was a member of the Montcalm Church of God.
She was survived by four sons, five daughters, two brothers, one half-brother, one stepbrother, three sisters, thirtythree grandchildren, thirtysix greatgrandchildren, one foster granddaughter and one foster greatgranddaughter.
Grandsons and granddaughers were pallbearers and flowerbearers for Martha's service at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, with Rev. Carl Burrows.

Martha and Oliver were married in Mercer county by D. M. Scott, and entered into the ledger with the date of 23 Dec. 1908, with a notation of cert. by father, P. E. Scott.
Both parties were born in Mercer county, with Oliver giving his age as 22, and Martha as 17.
