Mrs. Jessie Looney

Mrs. Jessie Looney, 81, South Clay St., Millersburg, died Friday morning at the Holmes County Home.

She was born April 18, 1886 in Prairie Township, Holmes County, a daughter of John and Caroline Arnold Nowell [sic], and was first married to Lyman Sweigert. She later married Robert Looney, who died in January 1966. Mrs. Looney formerly was employed at the Holmes County Home.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Laura Stone, Mrs. Esther Magnuson and Mrs. Daisy Smith, all of Colorado, Mrs. Lilly Zimmerly, Canton, and Mrs. Dolly Pyers, Millersburg; two sons, Clifford and Walter Sweigert, Colorado; one brother, Sylvia Nowell [sic], Baberton; two sisters, Sarah Walters, Holmesville, and Bertha Walters, Navarre; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. One son and one brother are deceased.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Elliott-Hartline Funeral Home in Millersburg with Rev. Ronald Boldman in charge. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening at the funeral home.
