Ernie Alderson Dies At 68
Ernest G. "Ernie" Alderson, 68, of 320 Louie Ave. died at his home Friday afternoon following a sudden illness.
Mr. Alderson apparently collapsed while working in his yard, and was discovered by his wife. Resuscitator crews of the Lodi Fire Department administered emergency treatment but were not able to revive him.
A native of Healdsburg, he lived in Sebastopol from 1907 to 1941, when he came to Lodi. He was owner and operator of the North Church Grocery and Service Station.
He is survived by his wife, Adeline; and one daughter, Mrs. Viola Dawson, of Lodi; and three brothers, Elvie Alderson of Vallejo, Ellis Alderson of Sebastopol, and Emery Alderson of Lakewood.
Mr. Alderson was a member of the First Methodist Church of Lodi, the Lodi Moose Lodge 634, Harmony Encampment 95, IOOF, Lodi Lodge 259, Volcano Historical Lodge 25 of Saratoga IOOF, and the Flora Rebekah Lodge 162. He was a past Noble Grand of the Lodi Odd Fellows Lodge.
