Joseph Berger, 64, died yesterday at his farm home, a mile and a half
northwest of Maribel, shortly after noon. Death came as the result
pneumonia which followed a long illness.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9:30 from the home
and at 10 o'clock from the St. Joseph's church at Kellnersville. The
burial will be made in the church cemetery.
Mr. Berger was born on the farm on which he died August 14, 1873.
He was married October 2, 1900 to Miss Anna Spurney, Kellnersville,
who survives.
Survivors besides the widow include his father, Jacob Berger, on the
home farm; four sons, Charles of Vernalis, Calif.; Joseph of West
Wrightstown, Edward of Denmark and Victor at home; five daughters,
Mrs. Joseph Dvorachek, Reedsville route; Mrs. Louis Schultz, Maribel
route; Sister M. Karlene, Silver Lake Convent; Miss Viola, at home;
and Miss Catherine, student nurse at the Holy Family hospital, Manitowoc;
three brothers, Frank of Taus, Emil at the home farm, and Anton of
Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. John Svec of Stratford and Mrs. Frank
Opichka, Wausau; and eight grandchildren.
The body will be taken to the home Saturday, where it may be viewed
until the home of the services Monday.
