Obituary: Sunday, March 16, 1969
Mrs. Roy R. Theoes, 52, of 1123 Sycamore St., died at her home about 4 am yesterday of an apparent heart attack.
She was born Evelyn Ione Waggoner at Algona, on July 24, 1916, the daughter of Andrew and Rose McWhiter Bissell Waggoner.
She lived most of her life here except for about 20 years in Dubuque. She graduated from East High in 1936.
She was married to Roy R. Theoes in Nashua at The Little Brown Church on Nov. 26, 1953.
She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and was State Department Junior Vice Commander and Commander of the Fourth District of Iowa and Senior Vice Commander of Chapter II of the Waterloo Auxiliary. She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose at Dubuque; the TOPS Club; the Northeast Iowa Citizen Band Emergency Associate, Homemakers Farm Group, and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; father and stepmother, of Hemet, CA; a brother, Floyd Bissell, of 612 Cedar Bend; sister, Mrs. Helen Peppler, of 1126 Sycamore St. She was preceded in death by her mother and two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Bissell Odor and Mrs. Pearle Bissell Shafer.
Burial will be in Garden of Memories.
