ESSEX JUNCTION -- E. Muriel Persons, 82, died in Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington on March 20, 1997.
She was born in High Bridge (Bronx), N.Y. on Feb. 13, 1915, the daughter of Elmer Quick and Mable Argue.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose and a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She performed as a secretary at IBM in Poughkeepsie, N. Y. as well as a secretary for Toy Warehouse in Poughkeepsie.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Sanford W. Wison, on Nov. 12, 1958 and her second husband, Leonard O. Persons, on May 13, 1978.
She is survived by her three children, S. William Wixson of Huntington, Jane E. Jacoby of Millbrook, N.Y., and Linda J. Howard of Richmond; her two sisters, Bertha Howe of Pleasant Valley, N.Y. and Lillian Goldsbary of LaGrangeville, N.Y.; her step-daughter Karen Wentrick of Oriskany, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 24, 1997 at 10 a.m. in the Allen Funeral Home, Franklin Avenue, Millbrook, N. Y. with the Rev. Michael Phillips officiating. Friends may call at the Allen Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place in the Wappingers Fall Rural Cemetery.
