August L. Naumann, 76, of Hewitt died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 1996. Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Heritage Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Vinciguerra officiating. Burial in Waco Memorial Park.

Mr. Naumann was born Nov. 26, 1919, in Ft. Bend County, Texas to John and Emma Naumann. He was a farmer and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Brenham. He had served as a paratrooper with the U.S. Army during WW II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Mr. Naumann was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Gus Sommerfeld, and a sister, Irene Naumann in March 1924.

Survivors include brothers, Theodore Naumann of Brenham, Melvin E. Naumann of Flint, Va., Emmet Naumann of Waco, Rslph Sommerfeld of China Spring; sisters, Ella Marie Bloss of Hewitt, Emma D. Lange of McGregor, Margaret Klaehn of Fredericksburg; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
