The obsequies for Leathel May Cline, aged 20 years, 22 months and 16 days whose death occurred at Marietta Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, December 10, 1941, following burns received Tuesday evening in a crude oil explosion at the family home near Beverly, were held at Muskingum Valley Baptist Church in Ludlow Township at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Rev. Arthur Weddle officiating. Pallbearers were Dana Hall, Orville Morris, John Wagner, John Conn, Hugh Haynes and Wilbur McFerren. School classmates were honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Cline, a daughter of Marion and Lydia Drumm Griffin of Rinard Mills, was born on December 24, 1920. She attended Bloomfield High School. On August 13, 1938, she became the wife of Luther J. Cline and lived at Winget Run for a time. For the past two years she and her husband lived in a home on the John D. Cline farm near Beverly.

Survivors are the husband, parents, and parents-in-law Mr. & Mrs. John D. Cline; three sisters and four brothers: Mrs. Brady Adams of Marietta who remains very ill in Memorial Hospital as a result of the burns received in the explosion; Mrs. Neil DeLong and Forest Griffin of Weirton, W.Va.; Mrs. Kenneth English, Elmer Griffin, and Clarence Griffin of Rinard Mills; Howard Griffin who is in the U.S Army camp at Cheyenne, Wyoming; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Two brothers, Harry and Herbert, are deceased.
