Jackie (Abernethy) Kollar died July 26, 2014 after fighting a long battle with Parkinson's disease. She was a long time professional Certified Public Accountant(CPA) for Kollar, Abernethy & Company. She is survived by husband, Doug Kollar of the home in Kirksville; son, Paul Abernethy; grand-daughter, Kelsey Abernethy; grand-son, Chase Abernethy & his family, wife Julie, and great-grand-daughter Mollee, all of Kansas City area. Also surviving are step-children, Kim Baty and Kris Beckman, sister, Wannie Johnson and their families who all live out of the area. She was preceded in death by her parents, John French and Nancy(King)Curtis; step-father, Loyd Curtis; son, John Kendall Abernethy and grand-daughter, Ashley Rae Abernethy. A small private ceremony will be held in Kirksville.

In lieu of flowers and for memorials, Jackie's desire was for contributions to be made to her favorite charitable organization: Chariton Valley Association. She worked with this organization for many years until forced to retire due to her illness. The organization helps handicapped children and disadvantaged adults. Contributions can be sent directly to the Chariton Valley Association 1905 S High Street, Kirksville, MO 63501.
