"The death of Mrs. Laura McLean, wife of Wallace McLean of this village, occurred Friday evening of last week at a Utica hospital where she had been a patient for about a month. Mrs. McLean, who was 78, had been in ill health for the past six years. She was born in Cooperstown on March 10, 1871, a daughter of the late Harry S. and Lucy (Betterly) Cadwell, and was married to Mr. McLean on December 23, 1902. For a period of 15 years she was employed by the Crist Company, a former Cooperstown publishing firm. Survivors besides her husband include a daughter, Mrs. James L. Britton of this village. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Ingalls Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilbur Dodge of Milford, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial was in Lakewood Cemetery here."
