Nadine Boyd Rogers began her life on Oct. 25, 1928 in Tahoka, Texas, being born to L. B. and Kate Grace (Mauldin) Boyd, in Texas. She was a graduate of Roby High School, Roby, Texas, marrying Bob Rogers, on Feb. 11, 1950 in Lubbock, Texas. To this union was born a son and three daughters. The Rogers family moved to the Abernathy area in 1955 and began farming. They were charter members of the Northside Baptist Church, where Nadine joyfully served as pianist, organist and Sunday School Teacher. Nadine's love of others led her to become involved in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

Tuesday morning, July 24, 2007, Nadine Boyd Rogers, at the age of 78, went to be with her Lord to join her parents, husband, three brothers and friends.

She is survived by her four children, Bobby Dean Rogers, Pamela Chapman, Nelda Bartley and her husband Tim, all of Abernathy and Gerry Ingram and her husband, Ron, of Vega, Texas. She is also survived by her brothers and their wives, A.P. and Margie Boyd of College Station, Texas, Horace and Lois Boyd of Irving, Texas, Calvin and Dixie Boyd and Arthur Ray and Schylon Boyd all of Sweetwater, Texas and Richard and Tanya Boyd of Abilene, Texas, two sisters-in-law, Julie Boyd of Abilene, Texas and Vonnell Boyd of Sweetwater, Texas; 12 grandchildren, (each thinking they were "her favorite"), and 10 great grandchildren.

Services honoring the 78 year life of Nadine will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007, at 1 p.m., in the Abernathy First Baptist Church. Rev. Joel Perez, her current pastor will officiate, while Rev. Billy Parmer, Rev. Ken Horn and Rev. Hollis Shewmake, former pastors, will also take part in this memorial time. She will be laid to rest in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.
