George R Crippen, age 85, retired Ann Arbor Railroad Freight agent, died yesterday, in his home, 515 Lowell Dr. A native of Fowlerville, Mich., Mr Crippen lived virtually his entire life in Toledo. He began his railroad career in 1894 as a telegraph operation and freight agent for the old Detroit, Lansing & Northern Railroad. When he retired in 1949, he was freight agent for the Ann arbor Railroad and owner of the Railway Trucking Co. which he has formed in 1921. Later he sold the trucking company. Surviving are daughters, Mildred, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Mabel Grossenbacher, Toledo; Brother, Irving; Williamston, Michigan and two grandchildren. Services will be in the Bennett Mortuary, Adams St, Saturday at 1:30 pm. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
