Death of Octogenarian Follows Ill-
ness of Five Weeks
Mrs. Cora V. Armstrong, 83, widow of Sylvester Armstrong, died Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. Dell Hollister, 30 Maple Avenue, following an illness of some five weeks.
Mrs. Armstrong was a native of Baltimore, Md., where she was born July 31, 1852, a daughter of H.C. and Caroline Boyd. She resided in Olean for many years and for the past 25 years she had lived in Homer and Cortland. She was a member of the Homer Avenue Methodist Church. Her late husband passed away in 1915 at Homer.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. H. Dell Hollister of Cortland, Mrs. P.S. Hosley of Cuba, Mrs. A.H. Reed of Kennedy and Mrs. E.W. Sturm of Olean; two sons, Duard Armstrong of Venice, Calif., and Ray O. Armstrong of Colombia, South America; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Homer Avenue Methodist Church. Friends may call at the home at their convenience. Burial will be made in the Cortland Rural Cemetery.
