F. Regan Nerone, 73, of South Park, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014. Regan is survived by his loving spouse, Margaret (Ondovchik); beloved children and grandchildren, Michael Francis and Amy (wife), Katie, Mandy, Sean and Elizabeth Nerone; Rebecca Ann and Glenn (husband), Josh, Max, Sam and Spencer Yauch; Laura Lee and Andrew (husband), Tess, Ellie and Meg Reinhart; siblings, James Randal and Roberta (wife) Nerone, John Roger and Helena (wife) Nerone, Richard Anthony and Kathy (wife) Nerone, Johanna and Richard (husband) Smith, Margaret Mary and Dr. Ronald (husband) DiCarlo, Phillip Nerone, Kathy (Nerone) Peters; also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Nerone. Regan was a graduate of Baldwin High School and Duquesne University, B.A.; a member of the Gamma Phi Fraternity; a graduate of Duquesne School of Law with a Juris Doctorate Degree; and a lieutenant in the Army, Commander 993rd Base Post Office. Regan was a senior attorney for Westinghouse, general counsel for RIDC, solicitor for Collier Township, South Park Township and Alcosan; law clerk for the Honorable Robert A. Kelly, and director of aviation for Allegheny County and director of property and supplies for Allegheny County. In his private law practice, he was a general practitioner with specialties in anti-trust, municipal land estates and trusts. Regan was a member and active participant at Nativity Catholic Church, where he was on the Pastoral Council, catechist for CCD and RCIA, Eucharistic minister and lector. He was the 2006 recipient of the Pittsburgh Manifest Kingdom of God Award. He was a council member, president and formation director of the Secular Discalced Carmelites. Regan was a recovering alcoholic. He was an avid Steelers fan and a fan of all activities of his 11 grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the Nativity Catholic Church, South Park, followed by entombment at the All Saints (Braddock Catholic) Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Nativity Catholic Church, 5811 Curry Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
