Delbert Max Carlson, 77, of Sandwich, passed away Monday, February 13, 2006 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich. He was born October 27, 1928 in Alta, Iowa, the son of Clarence C. and Viola (Graham) Carlson.
He married Patricia Spears on February 5, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri and after her death on April 12, 1994, he married Vivian Roder in 1995. He was the Administrator at Scottish Home in North Riverside. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sandwich. Delbert enjoyed gardening and reading and had a special interest in model railroading.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian of Sandwich; two daughters, Jennifer (Bryan) Galvan of Sandwich and Julie Carlson of Chicago; one step-daughter, Carolyn (James) Zeibert of Lombard; one step-son, Allen Roder of Earlville; one brother, Norman (Jean) Carlson of Spirit Lake, Iowa; two grandchildren, Sarah K. Galvan and Benjamin J. Galvan; and one step-grandson, Joseph Ziebert.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Carlson; and one brother, Clarence Carlson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at Turner Funeral Home in Somonauk with the Rev. David Kaul officiating. Burial will be in Oak Mound Cemetery in Somonauk. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Turner Funeral Home in Somonauk.
