Sophia Rowden was the daughter of William B Rowden and Mary Jane Shidler. She married Allen Dowell on Oct 29, 1854 in Delaware County, Indiana. Sophia and Allen had 7 children. They were Susan, Mary Lucinda, John H, James Allen, Jessie Florentine, Joshua J, and David Charles. They moved to Michigan between 1870 and 1880. She is buried at the Highland View Cemetery but has no headstone.
