Military Graveside services for Hobart Lee Derricks-Moten, 83, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Monday, July 28, 2014 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Hobart was born August 26, 1930 in Oklahoma the son of Clyde L. and Tessie R. (Vann) Moten.
Hobart served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1953 when he transferred to be in the Army Reserve.
He worked in maintenance at the University of Kansas until he retired.
Survivors include one sister, Lavenia Moten Cooper; and two brothers, Willis R. Moten and William G. Moten.
The family will greet friends from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014.
The family suggests memorial in his name to the Douglas County Red Cross and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
