On Sep. 20, 1920, Chas. W. Abbott and Avery M. Edwards were married in Denver, Colorado, according to Colorado Marriage Records for 1862-2006.

According to his Apr. 25, 1942 WWII Draft Registration card, Charles William Abbott was b. Mar. 28, 1893 in Saline county, NE. He was described as 5'9 1/2" tall, weighing 164 lbs., with blue eyes, brown hair, a light complexion and no other obvious physical characteristic that would aid in identification.

C. W. Abbott, past leader of VFW, dies
Charles William Abbott, Past Commander of the Eagle Rock Veterans of Foreign Wars and local artist and decorator here for 28 years, died Tuesday in a Glendale hospital. He was 70.
Mr. Abbott, a commercial artist, received his professional training at the Colorado School of Fine Arts and at Otis Art Institute of Los Angeles. He had been a local painter and a decorator since moving to Eagle Rock in 1935.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Purple Heart group. Since 1933 Mr. Abbott had been a member of the Los Angeles Mineral Society, and was a member of the Eagle Rock Presbyterian Church. He was born in Dover County, Nebraska.
Funeral services for Mr. Abbott will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Eagle Rock Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena.
Surviving are his widow, Avery E.;
his two sons, Charles E. And Arthur W.;
his two daughters, Mrs. Roberta Mclain of Oregon, and Mrs. Jean Abbott Miller of Eagle Rock;
seven brothers, one sister and seven grandchildren.
