Resident of Newark, Dennis entered into rest on January 17, 2009. Known as Dude to family and friends, born and raised in Oklahoma. Dude served our country during WWII in the U.S. Army and was the recipient of two Bronze Stars. He relocated to California after the war in 1942 and joined the Calif. Conservation corp. and fought forest fires, he then went to work for Raisch Paving and the Operating Engineers union Local 3 where retired from in 1983. Dude enjoyed fishing for Stripped Bass and Sturgeon in the local waters for the Bay, he enjoyed bowling in the senior league for many years at Cloverleaf Bowl. Dude was proceeded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Rusty, he is survived by his sister, Clastine Hurley, of Oklahoma, his sons Dennis and Jim and their wife's Julie and Emily, daughter-in-law Debbie Allen, grandchildren Nick, Sarah, Clinton, Bobby, Dawn and two Great grandchildren, Brooke and Belle, many nieces and nephews.
