"RECENT DEATHS - Charles Buffum - Charles Buffum was born in Susquehanna county on Oct 13, 1839, and died at his home in Elgin, Pa, on Sept 12, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 29 days. In 1871 he was united in marriage to Marilla Hatch of Hatchtown, Crawford county. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs Cora Harrison, who died several years ago. Mr Buffum was a kind, genial old gentleman with a kind word for all. He was in poor health for more than a year of a complication of diseases, and the last few weeks was a great sufferer, but was patient and uncomplaining until death came to his relief. He is survived by a wife and two grandsons, besides one brother who lives near Troy, Pa, and one sister whose home is at Vestal, NY. The brother and sister are the last of a family of eight children."
