Billy loved sports of all kinds. As a youth he boxed in the golden gloves and played baseball. He coached youth sports in Ennis and for many seasons he was the PA announcer for the Ennis Lions football games.
At age 50 Billy Mack took up golf and the love affair began. He was very proud that he shot his age at 85.
God blessed Billy with an incredible Irish tenor voice. He sang at hundreds of church and civic meetings and funerals. He and his late wife Mary Lou Wilson Ables presented programs of historical figures with Mary Lou providing the commentary and Billy the musical interludes.
Billy Mack is survived by his son Judge Steve Ables and wife Lynda. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren, David and wife Meg, Matthew and wife Anna and daughter Dr. Mollie and husband Brandon Rinkenberger. His 4 great grand children are Mack, Harry, Peggy and Charlie. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Huffman and daughter Patty. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Lou and his twin sons Tim and Terry.
Billy Mack was an incredible business man and a loving and caring father and grandfather. Like Joshua in the Old Testament he lived the promise " As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord".
Private services will be held. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
