Slobojan, an on-duty deputy sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, suffered a fatal heart attack during a foot pursuit of a juvenile robbery suspect.
Slobojan and his partner, Dep. James Liddle, saw a suspect exit a car at 2537 Maxon, El Monte. Slobojan chased him over fences and through yards until he got to 12117 Felipe Dr,El Monte. He collapsed and several neighbors rushed to his aid. His partner arrived, Mouth to Mouth Resuscitation was administered. He was transported to a El Monte Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Deputy Slobojan had been with the agency for five years and was assigned to the Temple Sheriff's Station. At the time of his death, he lived at 351 E. Haven, Arcadia, with his wife Beverly and two sons.
