Count D'Aquin. Born on the island of St. Domingue, in the area that is modern-day Haiti, to Antoine Pierre d'Aquin,(1729- c. 1801) and Marguerite Pierette Charlotte Bizonton (Bizoton).

He went to Jamaica with his mother and siblings, in 1791, taking refuge from the revolts in St. Domingue. The family left the island in a dramatic escape the night of August 22, 1791, as the revolts began all over the colony. Assisted by their household servants, they made their way through wooded areas on foot, while being closely pursued by the revolutionaries. They arrived at a beach and had to run out to a waiting English gunboat. Mrs. d'Aquin and the younger children were ahead of the older sons and made it to the boat. As the rest made their way across the beach, the oldest son, Pierre Francois, was caught and killed. The boat began to move away, leaving the surviving sons to reach it by swimming. Charles Pierre was 20 years old, and is believed to have been one who had to swim out to the boat, leaving the body of his brother behind.

He married Marie Louise Victoire LeBon LaPointe, probably in Jamaica. He managed the coffee plantation Highgate until his death. He also owned Liberty Hall and Content 1812-1833.
