Born in Oberlin, she was a lifelong Elyria resident.
A graduate of Elyria High School and Bowling Green State University, she was a long time worker at the Cotter CO., in Westlake and most recently was a job coach in Vermilion.
Survivors include a son, Matthew, of Elyria; brother Ted Almas of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Kyle and Ken Almas; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Betty (nee McRoberts) Almas.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. today at Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, at Chestnut Ridge Road and State Route 57, Elyria. The Rev. David Hockney, Pastor of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, Elyria will officiate.
