Clifford L. Morris
On July 27, 2014, Clifford L. Morris left his Boise home to go to his heavenly home. Cliff was born to Clifford and Amelia Morris on November 22, 1928 in Fargo, North Dakota. Raised on the farm with sisters Marian and Maude, all called him "Sony". After high school Cliff joined the navy reserves which lead to his being called up to active duty in the navy during the Korean War. He returned from Japan to the farm and met the love of his life, is wife Marian, who gave him great joy and a family of four. Dean (Darleen), Roslynn, Cindy (Gary), Mark (Joy). Later a foster daughter Star (Bill) joined the family.
Cliff left the farm and worked as a telegraph operator for the railroad before going into the insurance business working for Argonaut and Cigna Insurance. Cliff was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for 50 years. He served on several boards and mowed the church lawn after his retirement.
Cliff loved golf, cards and fishing. While he claimed his boat was a fishing both that would occasionally tow a skier, raising his family it towed more water skiers than caught fish. Only in later years did he get his fishing boat back.
Cliff loved his family most of all. Travel, camping, sports, music recitals, card games to board games with his family and friends over the years. The grandkids he helped spoil - Darla, Nicki, Danielle, Sara, Sadie, Aubrey, Henry, and Palmer loved him back. Along with his three great granddaughters Charleen, Joleen and Teagan.
Proud of his military service, he also volunteered as an Advocate for a fellow veteran and well as a volunteer at the Idaho State Cemetery for many years. We will miss his humor, his helpfulness and wisdom. He was a good man.
Viewing will be Wed. August 6th from 5-7PM at Bowman Funeral Parlor, 1025 N Carlton Bay, Garden City ID 83714. A committal service will be held at 10AM on Thursday August 7th at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Morris residence.
