On October 24, 1942, he married Lois Scovill, in Aurora. They made their home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, until 1948 when they moved to Aurora. Lois passed away on January 25, 1972. Twins, Sharon and Richard, were born to this union.
Phil married Lavaughn Delaney on December 2, 1973, in Aurora. They made their home in Aurora and Geneseo, Illinois. Lavaughn passed away in July of 1992.
Phil then lived in Aurora and Kearney before entering the Care Center.
Phil worked at the Island Supply Co. in Grand Island, the Aurora Creamery, the Hamilton Manor and the Hamilton County Court House.
He loved life and loved to travel. He enjoyed gardening and making things with his hands such as tatting and embroidery work. Phil liked decorating for holidays and especially the Court House at Christmas.
He is preceded in death by his two wives, his brothers, John, Jim, and Larry and his sister, Louise.
He is survived by his son, Richard Phillips and his wife Sally of Minden; daughter, Sharon Corder and her husband Royce of Elwood; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Also, step-daughters, Deloris Gaule of Salem, IL; Marie Simmons and her husband Don of Prescott, IA; step-son, Robert Delaney and his wife Peg of Elkhart, IN; step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Lorraine Lottero of Inverness, FL and many nieces and nephews.
