Daughter of the late Robert Alexander and Zenobia Cox Haislip, she was the widow of James Davenport Walters. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert A. Haislip and Thomas M. Haislip, and by a sister, Lynnette Haislip Bowers. She was school teacher for many years. She was a member of Hooker Memorial Christian Church in Greenville, NC, where her funeral was held on January 24, 2011. She was survived by a daughter, Nancy Walter Hardee (Denny); son, Robert James Walters (Sara); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother, Zesely Bryan Haislip; sister, Ruth Haislip Roberson (Russell); and an extended family of relatives and friends.
