John Abraham "Jack" Davis, 80, of Sutter died Nov. 29, 2004, at his residence. Born in Ely, Nev., he was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 55 years. He was a retired machinist from Sweco and also was a rice farmer and a bus driver for Sutter Union School District. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include eight sons, and two daughters. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Davis; nine brothers; a sister; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Services: A graveside service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sutter Cemetery, 7200 Butte Ave., in Sutter. The Rev. Jim Anderson of Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church will officiate. The U.S. Navy will provide honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel, Yuba City.
