Father, son, brother, husband, friend — these are just a few words that describe Peter Orlando Aanes, who was born in Butte to Jerry and Joile Aanes on March 23, 1966.

Pete passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, in Butte.

Pete grew up in Butte and attended school at McKinley, West and Butte High. He learned to cook at Riley's at Canyon Ferry, then sharpened his skills at the M&M. Even though he said he hated cooking, he always ended up in front of a grill. No matter what you ordered or where you were, you knew it was always just the way you wanted it.

Be it water skiing, hunting, snowmobiling or just knocking back a few, Pete always did it the best he could — and usually his way.

Pete is survived by his son, Marty; granddaughter, Laini, and her mother, Dani; father, Jerry; siblings, Jess, Mary (Brian), Kirsten (Tracy); gal pal for life, Tina; cousins, Joe, Steve and Karen; Uncle Dean, Aunt Lou;

Pete joins his mom, Joile, brother, Mark, grandparents, Ori and Arlene Aanes, Pinky and Alice McIntosh, and his partner in crime, Jerry Mullaney.

Services will be held at Clark Park at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, with a reception to follow. Our thanks to Wayrynen-Richards, Gamer's, Set Free Ministries and Norco.

So wrap this one up to go, Pete — you are loved and shall be missed.
