Mrs. Cora Lee Gentry Abel, 92 of 886-C Caldwell Road, Blacksburg, SC on Monday, August 9, 2004 at Cleveland County Hospice At Wendover.

Born February 9, 1912 in Johnson County, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Baxter Gentry and Dosha Lee Lefdmond Gentry. She retired from Broyhill Industries at the age of 72 and was a member of State Line Baptist church, Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Howard Abel; a son, Norman Vance Abel and a stepson, Norman Paul Abel and three brothers, Earl, Garnet and Raymond Gentry.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and James Parsons of Blacksburg, SC and sister, Mona Greer of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm. Friday, August 13, 2004 at the Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arvie Houck offiiciating. Burial will take place at 4:00 p.m at Blue Ridge Memorial Cemetery, Lenoir.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at the funeral home.
