Her greatest joy in life was being a Grandma. She leaves 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren who she dearly loved. Her Christmas presents were legendary as they almost exploded as they were opened. We marveled that so much could fit in one box! When you think about the perfect grandma, Rolaine set the standard.
Rolaine was born Sept 3, 1942 to Roland & Cleo Page in Riverton, UT. Married Wayne Holt October 2, 1964, had 2 children Sherry Summers (Bret) and Mike (Johanna). She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (one she is getting to know now) and one sister. She will be missed by two older brothers (Noel and Lynn), a younger sister (Renae) who was as close as a sister could be, also Mary Holt and many nieces and nephews.
She worked in a dental office in West Jordan for over 20 years and when her Parkinson's disease made it too difficult to continue, had to retire. She left long time friends there but never forgot them. She then moved to Kaysville to be closer to her daughter who could help take care of her.
Her family is very thankful for all who took the time to really care for her as she valiantly, and without complaint, fought the cruel complications Parkinson's brings. Dr. Thulin, Katie, and Megan at the U Neurology clinic so often went the extra mile, Care Givers Support for their compassionate help, and The SDCH staff with family-like concern helped her through her last few days and struggles.
For the last year she lived at Welcome Home where the staff helped her live as independently as possible. There were many others who not only served her, but became her friend as they helped her.
She will be remembered for the kind generous and always giving person that she was. She left this world a better place. Once you met Rolaine and spent time with her, you had a friend. She never liked to see anyone leave her home without something in their hands.
We will miss you Mom. We will miss you Grandma. Who will call us during our dinner prayer now? Thank you for being such an inspiration to us all and for teaching us how to endure so much with grace. She was such a part of our everyday life. What a privilege it has been, especially now looking back to have had that opportunity.
A viewing will be held at Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 S. 2200 W, Riverton, UT. from 11:00 – 12:30 on Wednesday August 6th, and in honor of her wishes there will be a graveside service at 1:00pm at Riverton Cemetery
