Ruth was a strong and somewhat independent lady. After raising her family of 4 children, she enjoyed her grandkids and there were many family get togethers. She and dad moved from San Francisco to Auburn, CA in 1974, out in the country where she got the cute little house with a white picket fence that she always wanted. She and dad loved living here for many more years, until dad died in 1985. She stayed a couple more years before moving to her brand new home in Roseville, CA to be close to her daughter, Carolyn & her husband Larry Millea, also in Roseville.
She lived in Roseville until 2010 until the age of 89. She had osteoarthritis and the beginning of dementia and couldn't stay by herself anymore so we found a wonderful board and care home in Lincoln, CA where Larry & Carolyn now lived. It was a hard transition for her but she had wonderful, caring and loving caregivers who became her second family for the next four years.
