Sherman - At Concord, October 19, 1886, Mrs. Minnie J. Sherman, aged 35 years.

Gone Home
"What would life be without the knowledge that we will meet our departed loved ones across the river, which all must cross sooner or later. There we leave the cares and vexations of morality, and enter upon the intellectual and soul inspiring enjoyments that alone can proceed from the Great White Throne.
The esteem and respect in which the late Mrs. Minnie J. Sherman was held, was manifested not only by the large attendance at the funeral on Thursday, but also by the beautiful and innumerable floral tributes, prepared by loving hands.
The services were conducted at the late residence of the deceased, at Concord and at the Pacheco Cemetery by Rev. Mr. Wilmot of the Concord Christian Church. The pallbearers were H.R. Whitman, C.H. McClellan, S. Bacon, James T. Walker, D.F. Majors and Henry Loring."

In Concord, Oct 19, 1886, Mrs. Minnie J. Sherman, a native of Libertyville, Illinois, aged 35 years, 8 months, 13 days.

In Memorium
"But barely seven months since all that was mortal of John Sherman was consigned to the earth, the sad intelligence in borne to the numerous friends and relatives of the bereaved family of the demise of Mrs. Minnie J. Sherman. After a brief sickness the bereaved wife died on Tuesday evening, Oct 19th, at her residence from cerebro menigitis. She was a devoted wife and mother, and highly esteemed by the community here, amidst whom she has resided in the frequent performance of benevolence for many years. Her two charges, Charles, her son and Oscar Stone, a nephew, will sadly miss the loving thoughtful care of so devoted a mother, who, before death closed the aching eyes, liberally provided for their future. The funeral took place on Thursday, and, with a wealth of flowers, typical of the love and respect of numerous friends and relatives, the remains were placed by the side of those of her husband. The funeral cortege was very long, numerous friends throughout Contra Costa, Alameda, San Francisco and Solano Counties, honoring the memory of a nobel, unslefish, true hearted woman. The funeral services under the auspices of the Christian Church were impressive."
