He purchased the company in 1911, and in 1912 he invented a high-quality quick cooking macaroni. He made the elbow macaroni noodles, with thinner walls and larger holes. His company took on the name Creamette Company. Their products are used world-wide in homes, restaurants and institutions. He married Margaret Hickey in 1911 and they were the parents of six children. Their daughter Margaret's face adorned the boxes of Creamette. He died while on vacation in Florida. Creamette was managed by the family until 1979, when the company was sold to the Borden Dairy Company.
