s/o Louis A. and Nellie Estella (Somers) Albiser; h/o Dorothy McCaffrey whom he married Jan. 12, 1940.

He attended the one room schoolhouse at "The Corner" in Passumpsic and then St. Johnsbury Academy.

He joined the National Guard and gained the rank of sergeant during World War II. After the death of his father, Fred returned to Vermont to operate the family farm.

Fred was a steel worker on projects all over the northeast. As a contractor he built many homes in the St. Johnsbury area. Fred was one of the first Ski-Doo dealers in the area and was very active in the organizing and the racing of snow machines.

Over the years Fred gained a reputation as an avid fisherman, hunter, and trapper and was active in the local hunting club. Fred raised and trained prize-winning Plott hounds. He was integral part of a study tagging and tracking the Vermont black bear population. He and his dogs were extras in the 1996 movie 'Spitfire Grill' filmed in Peacham and St. Johnsbury.

He is survived by his son Brian and daughter-in-law Judy Albiser of Las Vegas, NV; his daughter Susan Albiser of South Portland, ME; two granddaughters Jamie Albiser of Salt Lake City, UT; Jill Albiser Buckley and her husband Mark Buckley of Las Vegas, NV; two great-granddaughters Tatum Buckley and Samantha Buckley of Las Vegas, NV.; his sister Helen Albiser Lee Kopf of Old Bethpage, NY.

Fred was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy McCaffrey Albiser, and a daughter Kathleen.
